In line with the national policy to stop the further spread of the coronavirus, Oude Kerk had to keep its doors closed for 13 weeks. Even now that we are open again, we can welcome fewer visitors. That has large financial consequences: Oude Kerk hardly relies on subsidies and generates 80% of the income itself. A large part of this income comes from ticket sales. That income has largely disappeared.
Oude Kerk can only rely on governmental support measures to a very limited extent. This means that we now have to use the reserves that we have built up in recent years.
As the proud owner of the oldest building in Amsterdam, a meaningful museum and an extraordinarily art institute, we ask for your support. With your contribution, art can shine again, music can be heard again and heritage can remain alive in the oldest building in the city.
Thanks in advance!
